Home visiting is not only a key to students’ soul, but also a bridge to connect home with school. So as to better promote students’ development, help parents comprehensively know about students’ school performance and form the education resultant force among family, school and society, all teachers from Anqing Foreign Language School made the best of their winter vacation to enter students’ families and carry out the family visit activities in earnest.
To begin with, head teachers led discipline teachers to enter each community and village regardless of the inclement weather conditions. Teachers were responsible for students. They amiably introduced to parents Anqing Foreign Language School’s education, teaching and school management philosophy to let them be award of the results and achievements obtained by our school in recent years. Meanwhile, teachers followed parents’ opinions and suggestions towards our school work.
On the one hand, through parents’ introduction, teachers were able to understand students’ growth environment, school performance and living habits in detail. Also, teachers offered feedback on students’ thinking, learning conditions and aggregate performance to share with parents the educational experience so that the home-school alliance could join hands and create a favorable learning and living environment for children to guarantee their healthy and happy development.
On the other hand, parents were deeply moved by teachers’ home visiting, expressing that they would actively cooperate with school work, supervise their children’s studies in addition to helping improve their grades and healthy growth, which made teachers feel parents’ extreme enthusiasm, shortened the distance between parents and teachers, enabled students to feel teachers’ concern and love as well as had parents experience the warmth from school.
To sum up, everyone agreed that family atmosphere played a significant role in children’s development and parents’ education was crucial to children’s growth. In the future, Anqing Foreign Language School shall make the family visit campaign a routine work and continue to carry it out to cultivate hopes for each family and create the future for each student.
